Coat rack

The entryway was a little crowded with the coat rack right at the intersection/doorway. So I got this brushed nickel rack at D2 Design Quest in Grand Rapids.

Cabinet hardware

I wasn't really diggin' the '80s-looking brass-and-oak knobs in the kitchen.

So I got some new ones at Menards. On sale even. :) Not bad at $2 per knob, and $3 for drawer pulls. I looked around at the home stores for something that would look O.K. on oak. I didn't want the antique bronze look, because they are usually very dark with some rubbed-off spots of bronze. And that wouldn't work with the brushed-nickel kitchen faucet I want to get later. These are more steel-looking, and will look O.K. with the brushed nickel. Plus the knobs have the 'spool' shape that feels nice and smooth in your fingers.

They do look a little dark here, but I think when I paint the walls, it'll look better.

Towel bars

The other day I was at Menards and saw the exact same towel bars that are currently in my condo, but they were brushed nickel, not the white that I currently have. And they were on sale. So I did a quickie swap....

Much better, eh?

Well, the walls here will be a light gray one of these days, and they'll look more in place.

Think I can return these and get my money back? :)

Tire rack

Today I installed this rack for mounting my snow tires/wheels. Rick Rennie helped by cutting the mounting bar down to size for me on one side, and making an extension bracket on the other.
